Well last christams my boyfriend bought me a BEAUTIFUL male betta who I named "Whiseky" and about 5 months ago I bought 2 palkat females to breed with him but all are in separate tanks. One female "Martini" is on the left of his tank and the other "Jazzy" is on the right side of his tank. Well anyways he has always favored flirting with the female on the left "Martini" and so when decided they were conditioned and ready to breed I placed tem together and they bred with no complecations! but then the next time I was ready to breed I canditioned Whiskey and The other female Jazzy but it was a complete failure and he fought with her the whoel time!!!!....So I waited another mothe or so and conditioned martini again and placed her in the tank but this time they didnt breed and his nest disapeared but the stay side by side the tank and they get along perfect and both of them are healthy and happy!!...I thought this was the weirdest thing!!.....can any one tell me if this is normal!!??? i have no idea they have been together in the tank for about 2 weeks and they have no battel wounds and they are never chasing!!!...they just seim around together or sit at the bottom by oneanother....!!

I think this is so funny!!!!

I guess i have a case of betta love!!!

Thanks, Aimless!!

You should remove them. Most of the time they only tolerate each other for awhile. I have many males that I keep around females all the time and this keeps them from munching when time to breed. Keeping the female with the male can stress her out a lot even if he isn't chasing her or nipping. I currently have my male DDR CT male in with a female. He is very sweet and does not over stress her because I kept him in a tank that was divided. On one side was a VT female and he was on the other. Even though he is so sweet I still wouldn't leave him in with the female because there is always that chance that he could change his mind and start nipping.
