ok, so wow, i havnt been on in FOREVER! great new looks guys!

So my 10 gallon is over crowded.. over the summer i had my baby celestial in with my female bettas so he would be safe from my big fish. well, now winter is coming, and the girls are going to need heat.. also its getting a bit crowded.. 5 girls and the "baby" celestial who went from 1/2 inch with no fins to 4 inches this summer.. I dont have room for his tank yet.. or the funds..

so what i do have is my brakish tank is all gone, and i have an eclipse 6 i could pop him into till i have the funds/space for his 10. (or he's big enough to fight the fatties) I know i know, the 2 galler per inch rule. just talk me out of it. he would get to be alone, and i am religiose on my water changes for those who remember.

For goldfish we like to say ten gallons per fish. smile.gif When you get into inches, they're usually talking about tropicals.
What size was your brackish tank,or is that the 6 gal. that you were talking about? unsure.gif
I would think that the best deal for the Celestial would be to get a Rubbermaid for him and throw a filter on it.That way the girls(Bettas) would have their space back, and the celestial would have his space until a more permanent home came up for him.
I guess if you have no other options the 6 will have to do.I don't think the filtration is great enough on those Eclipses, but with Celestials ,they don't need to be tossed all over the place either.
Being that he's allready 4 inches, the 6 gal. doesn't really give him much space though.

I second the idea of a rubbermaid tub. Surely you could find space somewhere? Try rearranging your room a bit.

I've never heard a 2 gallon per inch rule, but gallon(s) per inch rules for any fish really don't work, especially with thick bodied fish. like the goldfish.

I used to use the 2 gallons per fish rule with my guppies (tropical). Goldfish are excluded b/c they produre *much* more waste than a regular tropical.
Good luck to you and your celestial with whatever way you go smile.gif
