I had had a 5 gallon in the attic for a while and thought I should get some goldies. I got two, then found out I needed a bigger tank. One died and I got another, then a 30 gallon, then another goldie. Then my aunt quit fish keeping and yesterday I got a 10 gallon and they also have a 50 gallon that they are also going to get rid of, either "give" it to me (for free!) or sell it. I think my mom is sold after looking at a fish magazine I had and deciding she wanted some live plants in a tank. I told her she could have some in the 50 gallon and she said I could supply the fish. I also got a 2 and 1/2 gallon for a betta two days ago. I am a mother to be if there ever was one! I am planning on the 10 and hopefully the 50 as tropical tanks, then I will get a betta. My 30 as you know has 3 goldies and my 5 is housing a small common I won at a fair for the time being. I can't wait for more, and as you may say the common should not go into the 5, but soon he will go into my pond with a fantail, koi and butterfly koi. I fixed the 5 gallon with a little gravel in a small bag that the flat marbles come in and put a plastic plant in there, then a round yellow rock, castle, and some pretty flat stones. It is allot prettier that a bare bottom, and he likes it to. My dad walked in and saw it and said "he is happier already" I believe him.
Does anyone know about how to maintain live plants, and what types of tropical fish could live with live plants? Thanks in advance,
Mariah
