Just wondering if anyone keeps bettas and goldfish in the same tank. Will they get along? Since goldfish grow so much bigger, would this eventually lead to problems? I'd love to be able to give my betta lots of room to roam!

Angela,
I will say 'NO' for your question. Betta likes to stay alone and will attack tankmates.

You can sometimes keep bettas with other fish, but certainly away from fish that look similar to it.
I would say no to bettas + goldfish for two reasons:
1. They have different requirements
2. Goldfish may nip at bettas and cause them to strike back
When I was younger I kept a betta with my goldfish and they did fairly well, but eventually one of my moores was bothering the betta too much and I found his telescope head floating at the top of my tank.
Since then I have kept bettas away from goldfish. I recommend you do the same.
