well i went to a new petsmart today and of course i looked at the fish. well all the fish and tanks were clean and beautiful. i was very satisfied.
well i was looking in the goldfish tanks i saw some lemon slices in the tanks and the fish were going crazy over them. Anyways i was just wondering if this was ok? if it is i may just have to try it wink.gif
FishCrazy

Peaches

Peaches

I've seen them feed both lemons and zucchini to goldfish at Petsmart, oranges too.

lemons and limes have as much vitamin c as oranges, so its not totally unbelievable that they might have given the lemons in the lfs. they r more acidic though, obviously, so it may not be a good idea to do very often.

i say 'petsmart'!!!! saves any confusion hehe! Mind you, i dont need to say it much now they aren't any PetSmart stores in the UK anymore!!!

I dont think lemons will mess with your pH anymore than oranges would to be honest. Just feed sparingly as usual. I'm not too sure if the fish will like it that much, do they have taste buds like people?? surely lemons are too sour for their little fishie mouths!!?
katmad
sorry double posted by accident
Ponderosa Power
Are you sure it wasn't grapefruit instead? They can look pretty similar sometimes. I just can't imagine many animals like lemons. Grapefruit is more tart than sour.

that could be. it just seemed too small and i thought grapefruit was more pinkish purple on the inside.
Hacker Boi
They have yellow and red grapefruit.

Also, I say it "pet smart" because on the logos the name is spelled with a red "PET" and a blue "SMART" and when it is written in official PetSmart documents it is spelled "PetSmart" with the capitalization indicating that the beginning of the words would be the P and the S rather than the P and the M.

I was just reading through the posts and came across this. I was wondering if you know of any Petsmart stores in London or if they have a website so I can just order stuff. I see the name appear every day here on Koko's and it's made me curious... peepwallA.gif

My local pet shop isn't really that good and I see them remove a lot of dead little fishies... rip.gif ...which might explain why my ones were so weak.

As far as i know there are no PetSmart stores in the UK anymore. Just Pets at Home, Pets Warehouse (which i have never been to but have heard on here) and a few smaller lfs.

The PetSmart website is .com, it's a USA site

Thanks for the info. I'm too lazy to visit any shops anyway. The sooner I get my licence back, the better because then there's no stopping me and I'll be spending all my money on fuel and fish fishtank2.gif Jig.gif
Plus I can start thinking about working on a pond when I'm back on the road cos I can go anywhere and my car can hold A LOT biggrin.gif
Just gotta work on the money situation tho... headscratch.gif
