Today at the petstore they had crowntails!! i wanted one sooo bad, but my mom said i had enough bettas already, i even had an empty tank!
but i was just amazed, i had never seen one in "real life" i know what i am going to dream about for the next month lol

Jeez, where are you located? They've had them for ages where I live. They are pretty cool though, I've got one, he's the first betta I've had since I was about 6

thats neat! most of the petstores near me don't sell bettas very often i don't know y. But a new store just opened up and they keep the store filled with bettas, most of them rn't in cups but in tanks!! it is a real step up!

They sell CTs at petstores near me but it rare to find ones that aren't blue or solid. I snatch up every nice looking tri color when they get them in stock.

They actually only recently started selling crowntails in chainstores here too. I'm not too much of a fan of them now, but people really like them. They go really fast, despite being almost $8 each.

Ive only seen them in one store out here, and in a lot of neat colors! I have one thats red and pinkish. Really beautiful. Unfortunetely I dont have room for anymore.

There arent many here except for at petco where they look VERY sickly and cost more or at my fave lfs where they look pretty health and cost the same as the other bettas.

I've never seen a crowntail in any of the LFS's I go to, only available from online breeders/importers

i think they were even selling them for the regular price of 2 dollars! i am going to go back and check on that...i hope.

I never see crowntails in my home pet store, but my brother got one for me for 3.17 snd Fuego is one of the nicest little bettas I've got.

I have only seen 1 crowntail in a store 99% of the time its all veiltails.Mind I love my veiltails

I have never seen a real crowntail as well, but there is a LFS near me that charges about three dollars for veiltail males, and an additional dollar or two for the cup he is in! What are you supposed to do, bring in your own water and cup? There isn't enough water in that little cup to amount to anything when you put it in a bag. So cruel...

Wow Michelle that is totally weird. I have never heard of a store doing that before. The Petsmart and Petcos by me all have crowntails, but of course they charge more for them

Saratoga, NY Petsmart sells them for about $6.00 each. Nice looking guys too.

I have only seen crowntails once here and it was at a local chain. They always have veiltails though and they do charge for the cup! Petsmart always have veiltails and thats it.

I saw a whole rack full - probably 20 - of CTs at the petstore I went to tonight. A couple were dead and lying on their side, a bunch were sitting on the bottom, and the rest were all raggedy looking.

The rack underneath was full of VTs in the same sorry state.

I can't imageine there are so many people buying them that they need such a big inventory. What a waste.

That is sad. My local petsmart seem to keep them nice looking. They have ct but you got to get there when they first get them in cause they go fast. The petco by me had a couple too.

i don't understand how the petstores can let that happen. i was so happy when this new store opened, because they keep almost all there bettas in the main tanks. My mom hasn't let me go back to the store...she knows i really want one and i don't think she wants to risk it lol i wish!!

we always have crowntails and veiltails at our local pet stores one of them sometimes has half moons too (but they didnt look so great)

Yup some of the ones in lfs are not so great looking. And that can very from store to store of the same chain , believe it or not. One of the petcos near me had some bettas in some poor conditions, but petco going the other direction near me had some nice looking ones.
