Well my 250L tank basically has tinted glass. I didn't know it when i bought it (1yr ago) because they all looked the same and therefore i couldn't really notice it, but when i got it home well yea.. its tinted and not so pritty. Anyone know any ideas to make it pretty? I have black gravel and a light which makes the fish stand out alot, but i want something else, its really quite bare because the fish eat all the plants.

Heres a piccy..

As you can see the fish stand out well, but the tank itself looks a bit ###### in my point of view. Any ideas? Cheap ones too tongue.gif or i can put it on the christmas list from my family.

svendenhowser,

Have you thought about painting the background with glass paint? By the colors you choose you could brighten up the tank a lot. Go wild, use your imagination and create a world for your fish no one else has.

hrmm thats an idea, but would it be removable? I mean if i slap on a coat of glass paint and it looks absolutley hideous can i remove it easily? I like to change things when i get bored of them smile.gif

Hmmm, You would have to use a chemical or scrape it, so I do not suggest it. I work with glass in my art, so I have a little knowledge of this. Though, I mostly carve glass. I would suggest that you have an inexpensive piece of Plexiglas cut to the size of the tank ... paint it and find a way to prop it up. that way it is not permanent. This is what I would do though.

you can try switching your balck gravel to white. It will make the ground a lot brighter

hrmm yes, thnx for all the ideas guys smile.gif maybe i could put like a white towel or something on the back of the tank... pitty i dont have one! but maybe that'll do something.

I could try white gravel but thats lots of effort tongue.gif and money.. and it'll probably go green pretty quick eh? Should get some little waterproof LEDS and make a lego wonderland under the sea smile.gif that'd be awesome!

But nuff dreamin i need some real goals...

I have to agree with My nemo.
Change the black rocks to white or i lighter color.
It will bring more life to your Aquarium.
