I bought some driftwood with a rock and a plant anchored on it at the petstore in the reptile section. The associates there said that it was safe as long as I rinsed it first, but is it really safe? I read on the PetEducation website that it may contain chemicals and that it was NOT safe. What do you think?

I rinsed it very well and the pet store said that it was for aquariums, terrariums, and vivariums. I soaked it in water and installed it in my tank. The fish seem okay.

Mmm...I don't feel comfortable adding driftwood from the reptile section into an aquarium. Does it say on the tag that its safe in an aquarium, or did an employee tell you that? Most reptile driftwood is chemically treated and it might make your fish sick.
