My sister n law has a pond with lost of insect larvae, especially mosquito wrigglers. Is it safe to feed to my GF or will I risk introducing parasites? I am able to just catch the wrigglers. Is it safe?

I've never fed live food to my fish and I don't think its a good idea really. There's always the risk of introducing unwanted bacteria and parasites and there's plenty of freeze dried foods out there that do the same job.

Everybody I've spoken to about live feeding has advised me against it and I think it's best to take the safer option to help keep your little guys/gals safe. Your fish are too beautiful to put at risk. Keep up the good work thumbup.GIF

Thanks for your reply. I will take your advice. I don't want to put my guys at risk. I thought it might be a good idea becuase it would make feeding time a bit more fun for them, but I don't think it's worth the risk.

I understand what you're saying. It would be fun for the little guys to chase the food around the tank and I suppose it would be quite interesting to watch just to see how they do it. You can get freeze dried bloodworms, brine shimps etc from the petshop if you still want them to have the same nutrients as you get in live food
