krazy.gif I ran to Petsmart this morning for supplies and they finally had some Rubbermouth Plecos in and I have been wanting some for my goldfish tanks to see if they would help with the brown algea that I have been battling forever.

I bought four of them and came home and floated the bag for a while and then started to add tank water to get them pH adjusted and when it was time to put them in the QT tank I wanted to do so without the bag water. What a time I had. Those little guys are fast! I thought I would pour the water and them into my big net and then transfer to the tank. Noooo, two had to suck onto the bag and did not come out. I had to tear the bag to get them out. I'm so glad I put the drain plug into the sink because I had to put the net down which had the other two in it. By the time I got the stuck ones from the bag the other two were swimming around in the sink in the water from the bag. yikes.gif Finally I got them into the QT tank. I try to never stress my fish when I move them but these guys turned things around and stressed the heck out of me. I've gotten used to catching goldfish that practically swim into my hand. heartpump.gif

I know what youre saying! I try to catch my bristles sometimes and I can't! They are very quick and always go under the driftwood. My loaches are about equally as fast.

smile.gif I have two common plecos, one in each tropical tank, and they are not nearly as fast as these new guys! I don't know, maybe their just too old! What a sight this had to be today! rofl3.gif

but yeah, when i got mine, i had a hard time getting him out of the bag too. he just stayed sucked to the bag.

when I brought mine home, he jumped out of the bag and flopped around on the floor for a few minutes. I just waited for him to calm down before I tried to pick him up and plunk him in some water. I know better than to try and catch a squirming pleco.
