do the catfish still get enough food or do the goldfish take most of it?
i cant think of a way of getting them not to eat the catfish food
if they all get a good amount there should be no problem

Have you tried placing it in a part of the tank that only your catfish can get to.Tho I have found with my Plecs they never go hungry. My common just manouvers himself over the top of the tablet when he realises its there and the fish then leave him to eat.

i think what they do is just suck it and dont eat it(if they did i wouldent have any goldfish because it is to big rofl3.gif ) but tnxs wink.gif

you can try using a tube. that way the food will sink to the bottom near the catfish, but the goldfish won't be able to get it because its shielded by the tubing.

I do that for my blind fish. I got a clear plastic tube they sell at the fish store to cover light bulbs for about $1.99, and a little plate in the bottom of the tank, and when its time for feeding, I put the tube in, tap the glass and Noah goes right to the plate.

LOL I also am careful to feed the other guys right as I'm feeding noah, otherwise they too go right to the plate too! biggrin.gif

You could also try waiting until youre going to bed and turning all the lights off. The goldies will be sleeping and the plecos will get their fill.

smile.gif The bed time feedings are a good idea.I also have caves in the tanks where some of my Plec's are housed, and I stick wafers straight in their house,or stick one under their wood where they hang out. biggrin.gif
Goldie's are such piggies that you really have to think quick and be creative sometimes to outsmart them. biggrin.gif
