I've seen freshwater clams in a tank with goldfish as my LFS. I think they look pretty cool. Not sure if GF will eat them or not (??)

I'm thinking seriously about getting some clams myself. I expect it'll be a bit of a gamble though. From what I've read, they don't generally do well in fish tanks. Clams are filter feeders. Fish aquariums already have filters on the tanks, leaving little food for the clams. I've read that if you have clear water, the clams won't live. But I believe you can purchase liquid food for filter feeeders. So I'm thinking I just may give them a try and attempt to feed them the liquid food. And I do have a certain amount of algae clouding my water, so I'm hoping the clams will help clean that up.
