Full Version: Getting Some Plants.
Forum > The Goldfish Topics > Goldfish Tanks > Goldfish plants, & how to set up a planted tank
THUNDER
Okay, could someone paste several sites that I can trust to buy plants?

Also, the plants that enlisted on http://www.kokosgoldfish.com/Plants.html, do they accept being in water with salt?

What about Water Sprite? Thats a fast growing plant, will it work?

What about Moss Balls, those balls of green alage (does not spread)?

I have had very good shopping experience in Aquabotanic.com and would recomend them anytime.

Regarding the salt, how much salt are you talking about?
THUNDER
Jungle recommended 1/4 teaspoon for every gallon, but I ran out of that salt brand and I cant go to a far place, so I had to get a cheapie, the API, and it recommends 1/2 teaspoon of salt per gallon. I have 55 gallons tank. The salt is only there temporary. I'll check out that place.

The only plants I have tried with similar salt levels are Java ferns and they did OK.

I bought some plants. Did 50% water change. Here is what I have...

Echinodorus Spp Sword
Anacharis Egeria Densa
Bacopa Carotiniana
Red Ludwigla Peruensis

They didnt have an Onions or Corkscrew Vals.

Water temp is at a constant 76-78 with no heater. smile.gif

Nice plants! I hope you can share some pics when your tank is ready. Good luck with your plants!

Ugh, I dunno how to properly take the pics with my digital camera!!! I have some pictures and videos from my PC cam that does a nice job. Recently, I got my Kodak Easyshare Z740 from my pawn shop, and I've tried many different settings. I cant figure out the best way for tanks!!! I'm not gonna pawn this camrea again...
