Constipation

My Red Cap got really constipated from some gel food I made that had nuggets in it. Big, big mistake. However, I don't know what to do to help her. I have tried giving her peas, but they others get to them before she can. She is really moving slow and sort of swimming straight up at times. Any suggestions for quick relief?

Try not feeding for three days. Then use peas but alot of them like about 10 peas enough that he can get some........Just a thought maybe

Really? 3 days? Sounds like a good idea. You always have such good advice. Tonight she seemed to be doing a little better. At least she is floating in a normal position and swimming more.
I can't imagine not feeding them for one day they are such little piggies. Have you ever tried that? And if you did, how did they all react after going so long without food? I have a real hard time not putting human emotions and feelings on my fish.

i actually dont feed my fish for one day out of the week. Then feed them peas the next day. Goldfish beleave it can go with out food for up to 4 days. I would try two days and then peas if this sounds better but i would diffently not feed them for a day or two then straight to the peas.

Thank you. I will do what you have recommended and I will keep you posted. She is swimming flat tonight but still not herself. There is no definition from the back of her gills to the end of her body. She just looks fat little ball. I sure hope that this works.
