LOL, I don't know if he could see his reflection or if the shininess made him do it, but I got Chauncey to flare at a butter knife last night! This coming from a fish who wouldn't flare at mirrors until recently. I was waiting for my toast to pop up and Chauncey was dancing around so I held the knife up to him and he flared a second later.

Kind of a lame story, but I thought it was cute!

This isn't from last night but I finally did get a halfway decent pic of him flaring, still terrible quality but the best one I have ever taken...

Ooh very pretty fish, is he a crimson color or more black? Heh i can just see your fish going "eeek wut in the world are you holding that..that scary lookin thingee at me for mommy?!..., better look big and mean and she'll go away!!"

He is like a purplish/blue color with some ends of the fins fading into a red. I would love to have a black betta though!

I wish I could get a better picture but I had to give the digital cam back to my ex. The tank is not in a very good place for pictures either, in the kitchen under a cupboard there isn't much light and it is only 2 gallons.

Wow he looks really nice and i love the crazy rays going out everywhere.

Chauncey is kinda on the scraggley side, lol, although HE seems to think he is the most beautiful thing this side of the moon. He is totally MADE by his endless self-esteem! I did not pick him out, he was a birthday gift someone gave to my daughter. I would never have bought a betta since the ones I had when i was a kid were so boring...of course now I know that was because they were in water that was too cold and bowls that were too small! Chauncey is very active, swims and dances all over and builds at least a bubble nest a week. :-)

I still love him though, scraggley fins and all!

You have certainly come a long way girlfriend!
I laughed at the knife story,but only because I could so picture myself doing the very same thing.
I think Chauncey looks beautiful no matter what,and most importantly-he is happy and loved.
