Okay, I know the PH in a Goldfish tank is way to high for Striped Raphaels, but I read about someone having a Raphael with Goldfish. Also, the water would be much cooler...

Can Raphaels still adjust and tolerate with higher PH and cooler temperature? I think the temperature may increase some, due to the two Emperor filters that warms up the water.

I know that the Goldfish can lower the PH, possible to add a Raphael after a certain time?

I'm not really sure about fish adjusting to a pH, but i'm guessing the fish would die from shock before they could get used to it, and also, tropicals need a consistent tempreture, so you probley need a heater, just remember, it's not a good idea to mix goldies and tropicals
THUNDER
Yeah, I know. Some people still do that and have great success. Plecos for example. The Goldfish tank is at a constant 76 degrees.

i'm not sure, you'll have to look into it more, i only keep basic tropicals like mollies and angels, you'll have to ask a more exprienced tropical fish keeper

Yeah, I would be asking myself. Just curious tho. I've never mixed the warm/cold/mix together.

Someone on here does have them with goldies. I tried it but the catfish were aggressive to my goldfish so I had to move them.

smile.gif I have had a pair of Raphael Cats for quite a few years now.Going with just their behavior alone, they are very shy fish that pretty much keep to themselves, and stay hidden in the Driftwood.I don't see them getting along with Goldies which can be quite nosey, and a bit outgoing for the Cats. I think the Raphaels would prefer a much more quieter/warmer tank.JMO though. smile.gif

I had 2 and only one liked to chase the goldies. I moved them to my trop tank and one passed away. The other loves it in there, spends all day in his log. smile.gif

I have 2 striped raphaels in with my three goldfish. They are doing fine. In fact I was shocked when the big one came out of his hiding place. He has grown A LOT since I bought him. They are very shy so you might not see them much. I also have an adult outside in a fountain. He use to live with koi but sadly they died because the power shut off and no one was home so no one could help them. The only time I ever thought mine might have been aggressive is when I had a small one in with female bettas. I don't know if he just ate it after it died or if he killed it but one of my girls was dead. After being in with fish his size and bigger he is fine and I've never once seen them go after my goldfish.
