Hi, I have my newly set up tank right near my window. The tank is exposed to sunlight but not direct sunlight. Is this positioning adviseable? Will the sunlight do good or harm to my fish? Thanks in advance for you comments

With a lot of Sun light, you will need to clean algae more often.... Possiblily you will get green water effect..

True ... but it won't harm your fish, they like algae, it just looks bad.

A bristlenose pleco is a great algae eater if you ever need one.

I've heard sunlight does wonders for goldfish colors, but I find that even a little bit will cause algae to grow wild!

If you're worried about algae, you can try a background on your tank to reduce the amount of sunshine that gets in.
