Hello Dear Moderators,

Can someone please help me and let me know if these are good enough for 5 GF? The tank comes together with a filter PUMP600 that filters 600l/h and the other one that I bought is CristalProfi 250 that pumps 700l/h for max water of 250l.

My new tank is 180l maximum.

I'll leave the advice to someone more experienced, but I thought I'd go ahead and do the conversion since most people here seem to be used to US Gallons:

The tank is 47.5 US Gallons
Total filtration (1300L/h) comes to 343.4 GPH

My gut instinct is that you're ok on tank size but a little short on filtration, but as I said, I'll leave that call for someone else to make.

Your new tank looks great! Being 180L (or 48gallons) is just a smidgen too small for 5 goldies (fancies that is). You could probably do it with awesome filtration and an immaculate cleaning schedule. At the moment your filters will do 1300L/hr, which is just shy of the 1800L/hr you need. But canister filters are awesome for goldie tanks, maybe you can get another one to add alongside the one you already have?

I would probably stick to 4 goldies in that tank. That way they have plenty of room (well its nothing compared to a pond, but hey, we cant all have ponds

We thought it was more than enough! Great. Wait til he hears the news....he'll probably tell me to choose between him and my GF....hmmmm....

Can someone show me a picture of how a canister filter looks like? See if I can get one without letting my hubby see it....

Don't worry...found some canister filters on the web, they look like the one I've already got. I'll search some more on this filter stuff...

Your tank looks really nice!! Im sure your tank is fine for 4 goldie fish!

I see it comes complete with a sleeping cat? Meow !!

My cats are the Tank Keepers...

Anyway, I decided to return my new Cristalprofi 250 and upgrade it to a much much bigger/stronger filter. I think I will try and get this "canister" everyone is talking about. Will do that this Sunday.

Apart from that, there are so many things I need to get to make sure I do not have to go in and out of pet/fish shops for a while.

1. kH increaser for my Neritinas
2. Algae Wafers for my Neritinas
3. Parasite Clear for my GF (or something of the same nature)
4. Replace current filter to "Canister" filter @1800L/hr
5. Fungus Clear for my GF (or something of the same nature)
6. Melafix - Antibacterial water additives made of Teatree Oil (or something of the same nature)
7. Whitespot with hydrogen peroxide (or something of that nature)
8. Background picture for my new aquarium
9. Potassium Permanganate paste (if there is one)
10. Acriflavine (Can't remember what this is for, but I think it was something important)
11. Medigold (if there are any)
12. Maracyn 1 & 2 (if there are any)
13. Iodine (asked before about this, will try again if I can find it)

I hope I can get all the stuff above so I have no problem left to think about. I will think about the UV equipment but I think that will be for a later date.
