I've never personally used it, but I used to sell a lot of it when I worked at the store. In my opinion Kaytee is one of the cheaper pet food brands, and they make foods for many different kinds of animals. Not sure if that means anything or not, but they are not specifically fish food makers.

Yeah, I knew that, I just figure since I'm not going to be feeding them the stuff for too long, it'd be ok..... the analysis doesn't seem bad though I don't think?

It sure has a lot of meal as their first few ingredients there - another sign of cheaper food. The analasys doesn't look bad, but I always wondered about the ash content. I know from certain cats, that they shouldn't be having ash in their diet (forgot why though).... unsure.gif

higher ash content in cat food gives them feline cystitis higher ash content in food not very good actually for felines basically the high ash content in cat food more common in female cats will cause tiny crystals to form within the urine, which block the normal passage of urine. This can be very painful for your cat as it will be difficult for them to urinate as they normally would. they say that it isnt caused by the cat food dont understand that if they are telling you to feed a cat more wet as opposed dry has a lot more ash content in it cheaper brands esp of course but i wouldnt feed any animal any food that has a high ash percentage
