i just boughta 55watt heater for my 13 gallon tank and i just decided well eventually i will want to turn it into a tropical and Gold Fish dont mind water temps and so i treated them one it is alrighthey?? now should i gradually heat it up for them like from say 68 to about 78 farronheiton my heater or is it alright ot just put your heater on 78 farronheight?
Nick
Well, most people put theirs on 74F which is about 24 degrees celcius.. That is probably one of the best temps they can have.

Slowly raise the temp so your goldies will adjust easier. A 10* temp
jump might stress them out a bit. Plus you can see if you have enough
aeration to handle the higher water temp(higher water temps-less o2 in
the water).

Sounds like you should be OK, but check every now and then to see if anyone
starts to gasp alot at the surface.

Well, i have a HOB filter, which, when the water falls, little bubbles rise from about 8 centremetres to the top, plus, i have a bubble wall, and a ship which blows bubbles, is the HOB enough for a while?
Nick
Because my pump is not very strong, and after about 1 - 2 hours it needs a 30 minute rest. And i dont turn it on at night.
