Quick question about Hoover my male bristlenose, he has a lighter brown spot right in front of his dorsal fin that extends nearly the entire width of his body, is this something I should be concerned about or is an aging thing? He is in my 55 gallon with the following params, 0 ammo, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate, 7.6 ph , he has driftwood and a cave. The only other fish in the tank are a pearlscale and an oranda. He's been acting normally, he was put in the tank on Saturday(from the 10 gallon betta tank he was in while I cycled the 55 gallon) and had the brown and green algae clean by Tuesday morning! biggrin.gif And I've had him for a year next month. Any input would be appericiated.

If your talking up where-- say his neck would be, on my Albino's it looks like a Pink spot, on
the Brown guys, same as yours. From what I understand it's kind of like a breeding spot. I think when they start feeling "a little manly",it shows up. rofl3.gif

Ah ha! He should start a club with Hamlet, everytime I do a water change,Hamlet comes up with breeding stars all over his gill plates and pectoral fin ridge! Silly boys! Thanks for the info Devs!
