Okay, the water temp in the pond is now keeping about 70 during the day, and slightly cooler at night. I think I'm going to bring George in today as it's really cooling off this week. I'm going to get a 5 gallon set up and seeded for him, and he'll live in the computer room with me till spring. Now I just have to wait till I see him up towards the top of the pond so I can grab him, LOL!

Now, I have a couple questions......... he is covered, and I mean COVERED in algae. What's a good way to get rid of it? I might try a soft toothbrush, but any other ideas? Is it possible to use the Jungle Algae clear with him? Or maybe dissolve a bit in some water then scrub him with that?

Also, would it be ok to put a couple otos in with him? I've always wanted a couple of those guys, but didn't have a tank I could put them in. I don't dare put them with the goldfish, and Groucho the oscar would just make them a snack. I figure George would be a nice roomie? Let me know.

Of course, I'll get some pics of him later once he's moved in.

Nevermind, he's inside now and I got him a buddy (finally). I've posted pics of him over at applensail.net as I have no clue what he is. I'm thinking insularium though. Sorry these are cruddy, my camera is being obnoxious. George is going to get his "makeover" today with a soft toothbrush. He's not incredibly happy going back into a tank. Poor guy, I'd be mad at me too!

Look at this funny pic..... I put a small bit of water hyacinth in there and I caught him doing this. Awww!!! It's been so long since I had a *little* snail. He's halfway outta the water, LOL. Look at his funny face!

Thanks Erin, I'm getting a kick outta him. I washed some dandilion leaves for the 2, and George ate them all.... this new one was too obsessed with HIS plant. I need to name him, don't I? Hmmmmmm........

This was such a very funny read for me 'coz I couldn't work out who George was. Who was this mysterious fella being brought in and scrubbed down...a little alien that had landed in the pond perhaps..then I saw the pic! What a face! Hilarious

Yeah, cuz it was in MY TANK and not YOURS, right? You're a punk. I figured George would eat it since he's a cana, and it was part of his "pond home" so I figured it'd help the transition. So far though, George hasn't touched it, and I got to thinkin'.... I never saw him eat them in the pond either. Weird. He really likes dandilion leaves though, jeez!!!!!

Hey Sharon, that reminds me, do you know any websites where Angjo or Snailsinthemail are selling food? I didn't see any on aquabid, and I posted over at applesnail, but havne't gotten an answer yet. Is that kinda weird?
