I want to breed my albino tiger barbs. I have 3 in a 20 gal. tank. The tank is pretty basic it has a rainbow rock cave in one corner, a decoration of the lost city of atlantis in the other and a no fishing sign in the middle with blue gravel. The albino tiger barbs are all about a year old. They have the whole tank to themselves. What are some things I should know about breeding them. And how many babies and how often. Thank you

I've never done it, but I don't believe there's anything special about breeding long-finned tetras. It's almost impossible to sex them, but other than that, just condition like you would most other tetras. More frequent water changes w/ soft, slightly acidic water, feeding more live and protein-rich foods, maintain the ideal temp, etc.
They're oviparous, egg scatterers. If you could set up a breeding aquarium with small plants and large gravel or marbles, that would be ideal. Basically the female scatters eggs, the male releases milt, you gently remove the parents, two days later, eggs start to hatch.
The number of eggs released depends on a lot of things, not the least of which is the size of the aquarium.
Good luck.
