i was under the impression thay anacharis never took root...
yet as i looked into my recently fertalized gf tank (substrate and a liquid fertalizer) i noticed white strings...
which i assumed to be waste from my fish...
it turned out to be roots when i tried to clean the plant...
anyone else ever experience this with an anacharis plant?

Anacharis usually don't have roots in the stores when you buy them because they are freshly cut into smaller plants. They aren't strong root feeders so they do okay without roots for a while until they are settled in.

Yes, they have roots. I did some experients on the planting of them a few years back. If the plants has roots, plant the plants horizontal to the gravel with the roots in the gravel, and new plantlets will grow out. With co2 and high lighting, the plants can grow from 30cm to 1m in a week! But goldfish tend to love eatting them.
