I am currently moving from my apartment so I am doing some packing up. Well I decided to take Ginseng to work so he can sit in his little container on the cradenza behind my receptionist desk. Well I take St.Louis' version of a comuter train to work-MetroLink. Ginseng rode in Mom's lap (in a plastic cup with an aerated plastic lid of course) all the way to work. He is currently sitting behind me in his container on the cradenze watching me work on the computer , enjoying his new surroundings- comtemporary art painting hanging above him, and all the attention my coworkers are giving him. He was staring at me a while ago , which is usually his way of telling you he is happy

Yup. Actually I actually think this is the happiest I have seen him. he loves watching the people walking by my desk. At home he was by himself a lot and would just float mostly at the top of the bowl. he has been swimming around more than I have ever seen him do before. I think he likes it here

Thanks Mrbumblebee. he is loving it. This is the most active I have seen him since I got him. At home he was just mainly hanging out at the top of the vase not swimming much. Now since he can see me all the time, see people passing by my desk etc. he is loving it and much more active. He is truly enjoying it. of course all the attention he gets from my coworkers seems to make him happy too. One of them told me yesterday that he was " just goregous"

Well and update. My boss it turned out was not that happy about Ginseng being here at work. my supervisor loved him but the big boss told me I have to take him home. The only problem with that is i am moving tomorrow and can't take him with me. I have found a lady on Craig's list who is going to pick him up from me tonight. She seems excited about getting him. I am going to keep Phoebe. No matter where I go I can still keep her in a container untill I am settled. But handling two while I am in transition would be too much. i love the dickens out of Ginseng and don't want to give him but I have to be practical. Like I mentioned I will still have Phoebe. So Ginseng gets to ride on his second train ride on his way home to Sharon his new Mom.

Oh no Kris! Do you really have to give Ginseng up? That is soooo sad. I know how close you are to him. Is there really no other way you can keep him? That is so sad. I really was not expecting that when I started to read you post. Poor you

Yup I know . It is hard. I love the little guy. But I know I am doing the responsible thing by finding him a new home. I am losing my apartment and I am not sure where I am going, so it would be kind of unfair to him. I probably can handle Phoebe by keeping her in the container she came in ( actually I have one of those big tall new deli containers with a lid I aerated that will be her temporary home. I just can't handle two right now. And I know Ginseng will be happy

I know you're trying to do the best thing for Ginseng which is very admirable, it just seems so hard on you because I know you've grown so fond of him
It sounds like Ginseng will have a lovely new home anyway
I'm glad you can still keep Phoebe
