I have a 37 gallon tank with 6 danios & 6 rasboras, I was thinking of getting some tetras...maybe neons or glo lights. How many could I have?

im uncertain about the gallon requirments for these fish but make sure you can get at least 4 tetras if you have the room. they are a schooling fish and need company.

YokulX, do you mean that that is all you want for your aquarium? Nothing bigger or a bottom dweller too?

If you keep 6 danios and 6 rasboras, you could keep about 15 of either, or a combination of both. Neons and glow-lites do best in schools of at least 6 of their kind.

I would personally pick one group of those tetras to go with a gourami and maybe some sort of bottom dweller. I like balanced aquariums.

originally i wanted just those types of fish but i'm thinking of bottom dwellers too now...wait so if i wanted tetras i could get up to 15?

You can easily fit 20 more tetras in there and have room for 3 or 4 cory. Tetras should be no more than two inches in adult length and filtration ahould be around 5 or 6 times tank capacity.

Most tetras swim in all the tank space so all levels would be covered.

Can i just ask how long the tank has been running for? Dont get too many at once or you will overload your filter. Can you quarantine new fish at all as its a bit risky just adding new ones?

the tank has been running for over a month/month & a half now...the rasboras we're recently added a week ago, i don't plan to add more soon because i dont want to ruin the bio, right now im just thinking of what to get. As for qt, i dont have one

Gourami's sound interesting, the dwarf in particular...what are they like? and are they compatible?

Yes gouramis can go in but really only one male and a female or two but a male on his own will do fine.
