Okay so I posted in the disease/diagnosis section but I'm not getting much help, how can you tell the difference between a swollen sick fish and a pregnant fish? What do the females look like when they are eggbound? My oranda's anal area is plainly visible, does this mean he or she is pregnant too?

A female filled with eggs tend to be more fat on one side than the other, while a sick fish might get swollen equally on both sides. The best way to check is to look from above.

pineconing is more then likey dropsy, and yes as ranchugirl said, pregnant goldfish seem to be fatter on one side then the other.
