At what age to goldfish reach sexual maturity?
abby15
I have a young goldfish(15 weeks old) that recently developed breeding stars blink.gif I asked the person I bought the parents from if this was normal and was told it was. Same goes for girls. Given proper conditions, females can produce eggs as early as 2-3 months old.

Although, if you are looking to breed, I would try to find goldfish that are atleast a year old.

Hope that helps biggrin.gif

Thanks Abby smile.gif I recently aquired a few comet goldfish that were previously all housed in a bowl. The poor things look pretty stunted but I don't know how long they were in there and if they will grow. The female has been laying eggs today, so I thought maybe that would help be figure out her age. The female is the largest with a 3" body. I'd rather not have them breed, I'm just curious.
