I found this really weird bug on one of the plants in the fry tank. It looks like a dragon fly but no wings, a forked tail, and really small with a clear like color. Anyone have any clue what it is? Could it possible eat my fry?
I have it in a cut but it hard to take pictures of because its so small.

might be a dragonfly or damselfly larvae, I found one in my tank when I had live plants and since I am deathly afraid of bugs I got rid of it and the plants *shiver* not sure if they would attack your fry, might be if they are very small, Betta fry right? If its those larvae then they are predators, Id get rid of it

I would take this from your tank imidiatly, as thease also can let out a sting and it most probally would kill your fry, I would get rid of the plants and the larva and make sure theres only one cause there may be more witch are hidden or something.

Yes, very dangerous to new fry. Seek and destroy them!

But the fry love the plants. I dumped this guy outside in my betta pool(has no fish in it yet). I'm just going to keep an eye out for more of these guys. Cause if there was one I'm sure there are more.

Of course! You're so nice to him! Don't you like to kill bugs?

Ah! How could you say such a thing. That reminds me of my mom who says "fish are just fish, when it dies buy a new one." I've always had a special place in my heart for bugs. Bugs can be pets and there ofor should not be smashed. You wouldn't smash a fish/cat/dog would you? Right now my bug collection is low. T-T I only have two black widows. One just showed up the other day so I haven't jarred her yet and the other is also outside of her jar while I wait for a male to come along and breed with her.
Here is a picture of a girl I've been taking care of for some time. I set up her home right next to my pond so I'm sure she is getting lots of food. I can't wait till she breeds. Picu is froma week ago when I let her out of her jar. By night she already had this web set up.

Sushi, we have so many of those!! Where do you live? I prefer scorpions to black widows

I don't like to kill anything really..I jar as many as I can and let them go outside or down the road.

I live in California. The only scorpions I've ever seen here are wind scorpions. They are so mean that I don't mess with them and I've come across wild diamond back rattle snakes and black widows that I was fine with removing.

I hate scorpions but I wouldn't kill one unless I had to.

That wind scorpion looks pretty icky. You should post it on Lucy's bug thread to creep out Della! We're all ganging up on her

SoooOOOooo... you don't like to kill bugs but you'd put a poor defenceless male black widow with his enormous husband-eating counterpart... she'll use him and then eat him and YOU'LL be the one responsible!

I had a spider who used to try to bite my feet in my bathroom in Yogjakata... I thought... I kept laughing at how gustsy it was for a spider (I'm used to large spiders), until I figured out it only had six legs and a pointy tail! It was a scorpion.

I'm not putting a male in with her. She is living outside for now. So if a male comes along its his own fault. Besides that nature. The female has to right away begin eating to prepair to lay eggs so its like he is sacrificing himself to make sure his genes are carried on. I feed my fish bloodworms and I eat meat but that is natural. I don't kill go around killing bugs just because they don't have big brown eyes and fur.
I'm sorry but I found what you had to say very rude.

maybe it is the old lady in me but I don't think I would be keeping a black widow spider for a pet. they are poisonous or would I keep a scorpion for that matter. This forum is about bettas and betta things etc. This thread has kind of gotten off the mark. But seriously Sushi get rid of the bugs . And you might to want remove all your plants and rinse and inspect them well to make sure there are not any more larvae or eggs on them or in the tank. If you are facinated by bugs, you might try collecting mosquito larvae to feed your bettas
