I like that idea of the doilies (no idea how to spell that!) as covers.. although I'm not sure I'd find one the right size for my tubs.

I know it is a pretty cool and pretty looking idea for a lid. I would have never thought of it.I was thinking of getting one too for the top of Ginseng's vase till I can afford to get him a tank. I was thinking I was going to see if Wally World or the fabric store had them. Hey even the 99 store may have them .

yup and if you can not find lace dollies you can use lace from the fabric counter at wallyworld. I went there a couple weeks ago and the assistant in fabrics found some really pretty lace. She said a quarter of a yard ( probably all I needed ) would only cost 50 cents. So you could try that as well.
