Full Version: My Topfin Air Pump Quit

I have a Topfin air pump that recently quit working due to one of the diaphragms splitting. It's a dual outlet pump with a rheostat flow adjuster. I couldn't find a model number anywhere on it. It was purchased about 2 years ago. Does anyone know if and where I might be able to get a repair kit for it? I didn't see any at Psmart today when I went in.
Ironically, I have an 11 year old version of the same make and model (no model number either) that has always worked fine.

Try opening the filter and there should be a black rubber band type thing inside in most cases this snaps or tears and needs replacing thats the only thing witch will be able to stop the air pump from working or the fuse in the plug could have also gone thease are the two things witch might stop it from working check thease things and escially inside for the black band as thease do snaps and tear and will stop pump from pumping air.

Any other reason would result in having to buy a new pump if some of the resistors or anything has blown witch can also happen from a power outage.

Hope that helps.

YOu can purchase the rubber bladders in a few stores still. BigAls on line has quite a collection of parts....

My large stores in the area cleared all the equipment parts out of their inventory - and no longer carry them. They want to sell more new equipment, I think! dry.gif

The trick to replacing a bladder is getting the distance adjusted again so that the vibrating metal bar does not bang into any part of the pump. This takes a lot of finesse and finagling. I have managed to do it in a number of pumps, but in a few others, no amount of tweaking ever returns the pump to silent operation....

HAve patience, and tweak away. IF you can find the parts, they are usually less than a dollar - and makes the fix well worth it.....

Good luck. smile.gif

Thanks for the link Daryl. Luckily, I had a spare airpump to use. It's not adjustable and the output is not as high, but it will work until I can get this one repaired. Hopefully one of those kits will fit the pump I have. Thanks again
