Sure they'll make babies, but I'm not sure why you'd want to really. You'll probably come out with mostly veils, and some poor quality veiltails.

Like Kissy says, you can breed most betta types together but you won't necessarily get great results in terms of finnage and colouration.

The usual reason for breeding different types is to improve upon or acheive a specific feature such as tail type or finnage.

For example, I have a HM-SD cross male betta and the result is basically a SD tail fin, maybe slightly more rounded but not as broad as a HM tail I beleive.

You will probably end up with some very pretty veiltail bettas whatever the case, good luck with it smile.gif

Thanks, well i was just thinking of breeding im not sure yet. I have a cute little aqua female vailtail and a cute red/blue male crowntail. I have bred vailtails before, i was just thinking of mixing that's all but thanks.

In america people dont really like veils as theres too many on the market anyway. If they had young would you be able to sell them on? If you could then you wouldnt get much for the fry. Try and get a crowntail female if the male is crowntail and if you go to aquabid you might find a breeder who is selling females or join a betta board and ask there.

I agree with Sandy. here is the name of a website where most of the members are breeders. If they don't have what you are looking for and they just might then they will know who to refer you to.
