this after noon i went into my computer room where my trop tank is and to my surprise i found a baby black neon. my guess is they are egg layers but couln't see any eggs but i do have a little one i did not buy him he was a freebie

yes had to cause i had the black neons form about 6 weeks andthis little guy is real small i guess they are egg layers but i can't find the eggs. have to be more aleart now

They are egg layers but they will eat their own eggs, there is a chance this one just went without notice. Have you bought any live plants recent;y? Sometimes small fish will sneak in with them.

That's great The eggs are usually scattered, and sometimes an egg eill be able to fall safely between the cracks of the gravel. Is he big enough to escape hungry mouths? I'm curious as to what your pH is. It usually must be pretty low in order to encourage their breeding behavior.

my ph is around 7.6 and i haven't brought any fish in 5 weeks all my plants are plastic. it must be something in the water so far kissy the other fish are leaving him alone
