hi
Ive noticed my female fish has been nudging and chasing at the male, I presume she wants to mate and is trying to get him to chase her or something, her belly is really big and her vent is sticking out, however the male is not chasing back. Now I am just a bit concerned because what if she doesnt release these eggs and they get infectected inside her or something ???? should I try and strip her by hand to get the eggs out??? has any body any ideas or experience of this.

Definetely try the hand stripping only as a last resort - it isn't as easy as it sounds, and if you never did it before, you can do more harm than anything. You can however try to just hold her gently, and let her squirm around in your hand for a bit. That sometimes does the trick.
Or you might wonna try and add just a tad cooler water when you do a water change. Not the whole water change with cooler water, but for the last gallon or so just have a bucket ready with slightly cooler water - a few degrees. Let that run into the tank, opposite site from the fish. That is something that Daryl has great success with.
