I was playing with the new camera today, and mainly taking photos of my new betta, but I got some tropicals as well. Sorry for the quality, especially the glassy eyes. I'm not sure why it does that dry.gif

Anyways, here are my black neon tetras.

And here is my pair of otos. I don't think I've posted their photo here before. They are in their usual day-time position here.

Oh man! I just saw that my oto photo was cut off. I'll go fix that cuz there's 1.5 more oto in the original lol. Thanks for the compliments everyone. They live in a 10 gallon so it is kind of small, but everyone seems happy. My final addition will be a sparkling gourami, and she's in qt right now. Does anyone else have otos? Do they spend most of the daytime in a certain spot? If I check on them after the lights go out that is when they are exploring over the tank. I know they're nocturnal, I just want to know if this is normal since they seem more active in the fish stores.

What's the rest of my tank look like? A mess, that's what! rofl3.gif I still haven't been able to kill that darn blue-green algae. dry.gif Its particularly bad in this photo since I hadn't cleaned or syphoned yet, so you can actually see some of it in there. Here's a photo of my tank several months ago before the algae issue.

It will look a lot different in a couple weeks. I'm doing a black-out soon and hopefully that will be the last of the algae. I threw that driftwood out long ago because it was rotting when I bought it and didn't realize it. I have new resin driftwood that even looks better. I plan to put that in, attach some new anubias and my lace-tipped java fern to that and another rock in the corner. The vals have actually perked up a lot since I started adding more ferts and excell, but I'm going to get rid of the 2-3 dieing plants and add some anacharis.

Here is the oto picture again:

Great looking fish, Kissy! I guess I'll have to look around for the gourami and betta pics? smile.gif
Ponderosa Power
Thanks Justin smile.gif There are loads of new betta photos, but I can't tank a photo of my new gourami yet. She's in a rubbermaid qt and she's such a shy little thing. I have a photo of her tank if that counts? No fish though lol.
balashark
Yea, I saw that after posting here. I'm disappointed kissy... you should know better wink.gif I'll get over it tho.
I'm still trying to find the betta pics. Hmm, maybe I'll try the betta section next. If there still is one ?! The board looks so different than I remember.
flyboymonkey
thats pretty cool

Do your Otos hide? I've had one for about 4 years and he's about 5-6 inches and all he does is hide in a little cave thingie in his tank. I've tried taking it out but when i do he somehow manages to move the gravel out from underneath the larger rockes i have in his tank. blink.gif
Ponderosa Power
I don't think you've got an otocinclus...those guys max out at 2". Maybe you can start your own thread to help identify him? I photo would definately help if you can get one.
quod me nutrit me destruit
Ok blink.gif if i can get him out of his little house thingie i will post a picture of him. That's odd thoug, the guy at the pet store said that's what he was...oh well lol i'm sure i'll figure him out.
