I have had my calico telescope for about a month, and I feed her 4-6 Omega One pellets and a few Omega One flakes twice a day (both soaked)-although I am not sure she gets all of it. Every third day in the evening she either gets some spirulina or peas instead of the Omega One. She has grown quite a bit, so I am not too worried about her! Since she does not seem to see really well I am not sure that she gets all the food I give her, she likes to eat from thte top unfortunately and her tank has gravel in it so not as easy to see how much she is getting. But I assume if she is growing well that it must be enough?
The one I am having more trouble with is my new black moor-I have only had him for like 10 days. He is tiny about an inch or inch and a half. He is in a qt tank now but will eventually go in with the calico telescope. Fortunately, he likes to eat from the bottom and the qt is barebottom, so I have been feeding him 3 Omega One pellets in the morning and three at night (soaked) and every third day the night feeding either some spirulina or peas. Do you think that is enough or should I up it a little?
With both fish the 5 minute rule is hard to apply since they don't see very well it sometimes takes them that long to find some of the food! The calico will let me hand feed her a little so that helps, but the moor definitely wants to eat from the bottom.
Let me know what you think, I want to make sure they are not being underfed, especially the moor! Thanks!
