What sort of lighting and flow are those clams in? I've always wanted to try clams.

Ive got a clam like that. I also had that kind of blue starfish but unfortunately it died. For some reason my luck with starfish has not been good.
Only my serpent stars seem to last.

Linkia stars need a very well established tank...and they must be acclimated slowly....
CLams are some of my favorite tank occupants!!!!

I have always thought I'd leave the salt-water to my boyfriend as I'm a goldfish girl myself but man, that starfish...golly!
I'm starfish crazy and that is just lovely.
*bangs head on table*
Those pictures are a terrible temptation as I don't have any room for another tank!

Yea, Im gonna have to try and get it acclimated to my tank slower. My tank is established, thats not a question.
Its just I dont have anything set up to do the drip method, therefore Im gonna have to try and rig something up.
I had one that I really want again. It was light purple with orange spots. Coolest starfish Ive ever seen.

Nice tank reef man. I like the clams and the linkia is very nice. Skeet you can use a bowl and a piece of airline tubing for a drip. Either tie a knot or put a valve and let it drip 1-2 drops per second. Until you have aleast 3 times the amount of water in the bowl as you started with. What are you feeding the clams, and do you feed the tank or the clams directly?

Clams require strong lighting...and a mature tank...if you can give them that the water column will take care of the feeding and the natural garden that the clam grows on its mantle takes care of the rest...that is why you need good lighting!!!
Some people will use a product like dt’s a phytoplankton…to augment the feeding!!! Add to the water column and the clams, and other filter feeders will have a good meal!!!
