I picked up some Hikari frozen bloodworms at the lfs the other day but I am SUPER paranoid about feeding live foods to my fish because of parasites and such. They say they are guaranteed parasite free on the package but I STILL worry! Do you guys feel they are safe? And if so, do I feed as much as I would any other foods?

Thanks...it's ok if you are laughing at me! smile.gif

Yes, they are super safe! I feed tons of them to my goldies. I am hyper-careful about what I feed my fishies, and Hikari seems to be the only brand that sterilizes their bloodworms, so that's the only brand I use.

I don't feed frozen "live" foods to my fish anymore, but what I would say is that Hikari are a very reputable brand and they process their foods to a very high standard indeed, I would of thought the risk is as low as it can be.

I use lot's of Hikari products, dry and freeze dried and I think the quality is excellent. If I could get their frozen foods where I live I probably would do too smile.gif

Where do you keep your frozen food? and how?

no need to worry, I am using that product too. It is 100% sure. ^.<

If you look on the hikori frozen blood worms container it mentions that the hikori frozen foods go through a three step sterilization period to to eliminate bacteria. I would tend to trust this brand over other brands as far as the frozen brine shrimp and blood worm go.
