Is there a cheap way to make hospital/quarantine tank for my goldfish? Since I'm too toung to get a job i have to work with a small budget.

Any ideals? Thanks.

A big plastic tub.Bigger the better.I use a big tub I can get a filter, heater all esentials in it.Like those thick square plastic ones you use for storage. You can use a heater in them as long as its appropriate wattage for size of tub.

Should the tub be clear?

A clear plastic tub would let more light through to your fish, but it's not essential. As Blue says a big plastic tub will do well, I note you have single tailed goldies, so if it's for them to use get a long as well deep one because as you know they really like to swim about smile.gif

My friend had a small power rangers mini kids plastic swimming pool that she bought for $12, and she made it into a goldfish pond!!! (in her living room.....) But anyways, its nice, it works, you could try one of those, i think they start selling them at Wal*Mart soon, lol. But my friend sara actually made a cover for hers and everything.

As a hospital tank for my sick tropicals that i had (they had a fungus) I used an empty (very well washed and rinsed) fresh step kitty litter container, and a filter. It's only like 5 or 6 gallons. I used a 5 gallon heater and filter. It worked really well for the 2 mollies and 4 platys that got sick, its good to treat them in, and it doesn't waste the treatments. It would probably be ok for 1-2 goldfish for about up to a week maybe?

In the pet stores they have those cheap plastic "kritter keepers".They come pretty large, but they have small ones too.I use a 30 gallon one of those when my comets get sick with a sponge filter.Works pretty well. They come with a lid,so there pretty cool.I've also had amazing luck with those babie pools from wally world.LOL.there like 3 dollars. And they work pretty well.I've recently upgraded to the plastic childs swimming pool from wally world.Theyre cool.LOL
