just wondering how long it will take for my cycle to begin? i have 7 fish in my 300 gallon pond and have been feeding well...i'm suprised i haven't got any ammonia readings yet!

It takes a month for the pond to be completely cycled, at least that is the way I understand. During that time you should try not to over feed (that's bad anytime though huh) and if I were you I'd have my salt up to .3% to protect the gills incase the ammonia does spike. It sounds like your feeding right and your pond is in good shape if your showing zeros all this time. You must have a good bio filter as well which as you know is the key to good pond keeping. If you keep up with your 10% water changes once a week, keep up with checking perams and your on your way!

thanks scott, i thought it took over a month once you started to get ammonia readings, i haven't got any readings at all yet!
i'm only feeding what they can eat but they do seem to always be ready for it!
and yes i've been doing my weekly water changes since they went in, and the pond has been salted to 0.3 since they went in to help them through the cycle (when it ever begins, LOL!!)
