i know that my common goldfish Goujon is a male, (2 years ago he was chasing a female comet around) but i am not sure about the others
a few months ago my shubunkin toscar (died) rip.gif was chasing the others around but none of my fish have shown these breeding spots

A way to help you see breeding stars - particularly ones on the pectoral fins - on a fish with recedeing stars or a younger fish or a fish that is of a lighter color, is to take a flash light. Shine the light at an angle onto the fish's fins.

The breeding stars will shine - kind of an irridencent sheen - and you can see them in the light better. smile.gif
