Hi,

I have had my 2 goldfish (an oranda and a fantail for 2yrs now), they are in a 20 gallon gallon tank. Recently, the oranda's fin at the base was red, and yesterday, i realized that a part of it fell off. Last week I went to a local aquarium store and bought melafix and been using it since then (Wednesday to be exact). I took out the filter to start the medication process, but then the water was getting cloudy, so i put it back in. I don't have a hospital tank, so both fish are in that one tank. Any suggestions on what to do? I realized this since I changed their food. It is this new crisp that tetrafin came out with. Could this be it??? Photos are attached.

Could you please take the time to answer as many questions from the above box to ensure that we can help you better. Having this information is what helps us help you. Water paramaters would be a great start. If your water is in bad condition.... (for example high nitrites) the fins will be affected among other things.

In the meantime please do a partial water change after you have gotten your water tested (hopefully you have a home test kit) You should be changing at least 20-30% of your water weekly.

We will wait for your response.
