yar, I was reading about your shubie, I hope he heals up quickly heartpump.gif

I only have one pond fish so far (I posted pics in the pics board) and she should come out of QT tomorrow or the day after, I'm sure shes ready, I just need to lower the salt from 0.3% before releasing her smile.gif
spose I better go searching for another 'special' fish so shes not lonely for too long.. she has the danios in there for now.

I think i'll leave all the plants and just see if they bounce back biggrin.gif I am quite scared of whatever is eating them though, it must have a big mouth!
jamoko
just looked up those pics, what cuties...which one's heading for the pond then?
Scott
Your pond is fantastic! You did yourself proud. I imagine you can't stop spending time by it. Thanks for sharing the pics, post more as things grow.

It looks great. Nice thing is, like fish, if the plants are healthy and the water is good they just keep getting better.

You have "volunteers" - that's unexpected plants. Where did you get the soil for the plants?

Sometimes volunteers and nice surprises. Sometimes they are annoyances. Bog and underwater conditions will limit the success of the volunteers though.

Nice job!

OMG I somehow missed the replys here sorry! ..I've been using the 'view new posts' feature lately and I miss alot rolleyes.gif

Jamoko, Ellie the Shub is going (well.. in now!) in smile.gif

Thanks Scott! I go out there all the time, when I get up, after breakfast.. when I get home. before dinner.. after dinner.. even at night sometimes.. laugh.gif

Thanks Daniel! I noticed another plant in the bull rush pot.. I'm going to take each on out a pot it up and grow them to see what they are biggrin.gif

I have more pics!!

I seem to have forgotten to take one of the pond as it is now.. but heres one of the other night when I was doing that 50% waterchange with a bucket rolleyes.gif
IPB Image

This is today when I was releasing Ellie biggrin.gif The big fat froggy tried to get out, I had to help him as he was at the steep bit.. I'm not sure he's keen on the salt.
IPB Image

He's a monster compared to Ellie!
IPB Image

He sat there for the whoooole time I was aclimating Ellie and releasing her heartpump.gif and while I went to rinse out a 2 gal tank and fill with some unsalted water to rinse him off in..
..theres Ellie swimming away..
IPB Image

I tilted the 2 gal so he can sit in it when he wants and covered it with a towel to keep it cool and dark.. and put it right next to the bush/pond. He shouldnt dry out now.
IPB Image

Ellies gone off to the bottom to sulk for a while, she should settle in and be swimming about soon.
jamoko
ellie is lovely...she'll be so happy in the pond, it's like the frog is keeping a watchful eye over her!!!
Black oranda

Ellie is cute smile.gif But that frog is REALLY CUTE! (Can I have him)? laugh.gif

Great Pic's Lucy, Keep em coming!! biggrin.gif
x-Lucy-Fish-x
Haha! Thanks guys.
Mr. Ribbit is the best, there is another frog in the pond and another one who lives in the garden under the shed.. but Mr. Ribbit is the only one that will come and sit on my hand biggrin.gif

Alex, I bought in one of those snails on one plant a couple of weeks ago.. now I have hundreds and they are growing so fast!! ..but I dont think they, with their tiny little mouths could eat as much as has been eaten.. I hope unsure.gif

We've had lightening and lots and lots of heavy rain so poor Ellie has been hiding all day.. I went out after the first storm and I could just about see her hanging about under the lillys. I'm sure the frogs have been having a ball!
glitterfish
Wow, it looks great Lucy!! Love the plants and your fish is a cutie. heartpump.gif

Did Ellie show up?
jamoko
lovely plants lucy! has ellie reappeared yet?

i see somethings still nibbling at your water lily...i'm having the same problem and have had 4-5 leaves sink down below the surface and die on me. i see a flower bud coming on mine which is exciting....unfortunately on monday night i had a bit of an accident with the hose when refilling the quarantine tanks...hose sprung out of the water and soaked the dining room! i had been about to photograph the two latest fish i got that day and in a state of panic i threw the camera into the quarantine tank with the fish yikes.gif help1.gif

what a plonker i am...needless to say the camera is now out of action and is in pieces being dried out...i just hope it works again as my last camera had a dodgy encounter with water as well...think i'm jinxed! LOL!!!

Jamoko, just checking, but you do know that water lily leaves only last for ~2 weeks, right? Then they turn yellow, and you need to pinch them off near the tuber to keep the dead leaf from rotting in the water. It's normal, and new leaves grow in and take their place. Same with the flowers, at least on my variety anyway, each flower only lasts a couple days.
jamoko
thanks for that...i didn't know that at all!!!

luckily i had the sence to nip them off at the base...that would be very difficult to do if you have a huge plant with loads od leaf cover!!
x-Lucy-Fish-x
Yep Ellie's still there, shes just very very skittish, I'll have to find her a friend ASAP. I saw her dart away to the bottom when I walked over there today. Her black dots have really darkened in the sunlight, as they had faded being in the dindgy QT tub. She's reaaally pretty heartpump.gif

Lol, sorry about your camera! I hope it recovers! laugh.gif

I need to do a bit of pruning. We had a lot of rain and the pond got very full covering some leaves that shouldnt have been wet and they are rotting now.
