I wonder with a skimmer why after I havent used it much, when I turn it on there is tons of micro bubbles coming out of it.... Is that because of the chems I had added or the food for the inverts in the tank? Also is it bad for everyone in the tank?

Are the bubbles shooting out into the tank, or is it overskimming with lots of foam? If its the latter then it could just be that there has been a buildup of wastes in the tank as a result of not using it for awhile. That is just my best guess, though. Hopefully RM can help!

No its like coming out of the out take of the filter BakPak....The extra bubbles.....I read in one book its bad and some others say its not???

If you just recently just plug it in you should wait untill the skimmer breaks in (usually around 2-3 days depending on your skimmer) ,and micro bubbles should stop

If your skimmer has been on and you just feed them some food most skimmers foam like crazy, causing alot of micro bubbles or sometimes the skimmer dosent skim for a few hours. Hope this helps.

Hi Koko.... Are you using a BakPak???

I will say that if you just turned it on it will take a few days for the micro bubbles to calm down...if it doesn't then there are some modifications that I will tell you about.... There should be no real reason not to leave it on...They are so beneficial to your system...

Well now it seems to be fine until I add the micolift to the tank then it will push out more bubbles. But over all i think it was just the beginning set up
