Well,it took me all day long,but I got my tank up and running.First,I drove to a pet store far from my house that told me they had Ryukins,when I got there,the "Ryukins"that he had were Lion Heads that he wanted $15 for,haa!!I went to my local Wal Mart,and bought a Lion Head for $5,and some Comets,I also bought 2 double tails,one orange and one white.One lesson that I learned is that the pet store I visited does not know their Goldfish,but I enjoyed playing with their Puppies and kittens,lol.Anyway,my tank is up.It was a challenge,but it is going.I also bought a small sucker mouth catfish as a scvenger.As much as I like Goldfish,it was all well worth it..Whew.

Congrats on your new tank....setting up a new tank is always so much fun. Well, I think it's a lot funner decorating and setting up than scrubbing it clean later on!
What size tank did ya get and how did you decorate it? Since we can't see it for a while, share some details!

I have decorated my tank(10 gallon)with a small Statue of Neptune,and some other things.I have already named my Goldfish:Goldstein(My Orange Doubletail)Winston(My White Doubletail),Julia(My Lionhead),George Orwell(Comet 1),Smyth(Comet 2),and O'Brian(Comet 3)...And yes,they are all named after characters in George Orwell's novel 1984.That's the theme,1984.I am a huge Orwell fan.I will get some pictures as soon as I can.

Just out of curiosity Winston,How many other Goldfish/Tropical tanks do you have? Did you use anything to automatically cycle this tank before you placed all those fish in the ten gallon?

My tank was fully cycled before use,they are under the care of Winston Smith(Who has no complaints from the Goldfish ethics board),so don't worry..Thanks.Pictures coming soon.

I'm an Orwell fan as well, particularly Animal Farm, everytime I read it I find some new analogy.

Maybe I am misinterpreting your posts but have you got 6 goldfish in the 10gallon tank? I realise you haven't been a member for long but one of this boards most important recommendations is the 10 gallons per goldfish guideline. In some cases you can keep 2 very small goldfish in a 10 gallon for a limited amount of time but I think you are heading for trouble with 6 gf in there. Check out this link:-

ps. just a note on your sucker mouth catfish sometimes also called Chinese Algae Eaters or Siamese Algae Eaters, they will attack the goldies and suck the slime off their scales, causing injury and possible infection. I have found this out the hard way as have many others. Really, I don't know why pet stores even sell these fish as they are aggressive towards everyone, even their own species.
