I was looking at Oscars the other day at the store and was wondering if they get along with Goldfish?They are neat.

No way. Only if you want the oscar to eat the golide. I was at the petco by me recently and got to watch the lfs employee feed the oscars. Feeder goldies are what oscar owners feed their fish. And oscars are tropical not cold water like the goldies

My dad used to keep oscars and they are aggressive they even rip each other apart.

Oscars and goldies is a no no.

In most cases the answer is no but if you had a very large tank and the goldfish in question were large commons or comets it could work and I have seen it work before. Heck, common goldfish grow larger than oscars.

My environmental teacher fed goldies to the oscar, the funny thing is he befrended his food and they lived happily for 5 years. . . . but then the tiger oscar died and was replaced with a new one, a much smaller one. . . . . not GOod he chased the goldies and tried to eat them. . . .

goldfish and oscars definately do not mix. for one thing one oscar needs about 50 gallons of water for just one which means a very large tank and they are very agrressive. i have one in a tank by itself i used to have two but he died . they didnt kill each other but they were constantly bickering. they are also very food aggressive. they would stick all the food they possibly could into their mouths just so they could have more and i fed them plenty so their agrression wasnt due to lack of food so even if your new oscar didnt kill the gf they would probably starve to death.

Sandtiger's right. If the goldie is a huge common/comet and the tank is big, then it's possible.
