I am planning to get marbles for the bottom rather than the gravel. Will the plant be ok?
what about the Hagen Hagen Marina Aquarium Gravel??
Thanks!

What kind of plant do you have? You may want to think about terra cotta pots with gravel in them for your plants if you want marbles.

Marbles are just as inert as pea gravel, and planting has been done with pea gravel, so that's good. The only thing is that most plants require root tabs if planted in an inert gravel. That will look very messy with with marbles. Marbles are also bigger with bigger space inbetween, so the plants may have trouble rooting in marbles.
