Hi all. I'm new here & have a quick question. I have kept a 75g freshwater tank for 5 years now & all is well. I've just been given an 120g tank & have decided to stock w/ goldfish; I'm leaning more toward Oranda's. What I really need to know is what type of filter/filters do you all suggest? I have a UGF in my 75g w/ cichlids but have read that a UGF isn't appropriate for goldfish tanks. Also, I've searched the web for Oranda based websites & really haven't had any luck finding any good ones...Are there any out there & if so, please lead me to them. Thanks!!

Sorry, I think I've posted this in the wrong place.

IMO the UGF is only good for making tank deviders and should not even be sold anymore. I prefer HOB even for my ciclid tank. I like the Emperior 400 but right now I am running the Whisper on both my 75g and my 30g. Have a new one cant remember the brand on order from my fave lfs to add to my 75g for extra water filter ration. The one on my 30g is for a 60g tank and does a great job. But wanted more for my 75g.
I had a canster once and so hated it. To hard to restart. But many here like those and maybe someone well come along with a good brand for you to try if you like the idea of one of those. For me it was to hard to hook up. Tubes everywhere so looked very messy.

Well filling a 120 with Goldies! How much fun is THAT??!!

My personal favorite filter is Aquaclear! I think they can't be beat on price, ease of use & cleaning & you can use different types of media!! I finally just got my 2nd AQ110! I LOVE THEM!!!
