hi quick question
my tank is still cycling, readings are all a bit high last time it was tested a few days ago, I put in more conditioner then and added salt so might be better readings now. i dont have a test kit yet.
Iwas wondering about cleaning the sides of the tank with a tank sponge using the tank water, if this is good, or just to leave it alone for now til its finished cycling. I have a fish in it, hes doing okay, since I have been doing 50% changes twice a week. I will siphon the rocks out too, but was wondering about the glass on the inside to it or not as it is starting to look like it needs washing

In my experience, it would be fine to clean the glass on the inside of the tank. If you use an aquarium scrubber sponge, it shouldn't affect the cycling of the tank.

I asked the same thing back when I first started out and was told that was fine...I have one of those sponge on a stick things and I just scrub the sides down when some of the water is out for water changes. It is even ok if the "junk" goes into the tank, or you can fish it out with a net if you wish. I have had no cycling problems doing ti that way. :-)
