Hi all: Has anyone used these Bio Mate Media Balls? They look really great..
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/Prod...004+113804+2032(hope this link works!) Anyways, I was wondering, does anyone know if these would work with my Penguin 200 filter? I have that extra slot - do you think the balls would be too big?

The BioMate balls would be OK in a canister or wet/dry filtration system, but they're not the ideal media for your Penguin 200. You just can't fit many 1" diameter balls in the space you have. You'd be better off using sintered glass, porous ceramic, lava rock or even sponges in a Penguin Media Basket to fill your extra slot
